This is part of a series called “Devotionals.”
“God, who gets invited to dinner at your place? How do we get on your guest list? ‘Walk straight, act right, and tell the truth. Don’t hurt your friend, don’t blame your neighbor; despite the despicable. keep your word even when it costs you, make an honest living, and never take a bribe. You’ll never get blacklisted if you live like this.'” (Psalm 15:1 The Message)
God – I want to live life with integrity. Please help me be above reproach, above board, and above the temptations of the world. There are so many lures to cut corners, to take advantage of people, to not do the best possible work – even if it’s unintentional – and I can only rely on your strength to overcome them.
I mean – You were tempted away from you mission to save us. You didn’t have to die, You didn’t owe us anything, You could’ve misused your Heavenly Father’s power for personal comfort and gain, and You could’ve avoided so much pain – but you stayed on purpose. I want that kind of unwavering resolve to bulletproof myself from evil, and to stay focused on what I’m supposed to do and how I’m supposed to live.
